Learning to Use a Lucet Fork

I got my lucet fork yesterday, and started trying it out today! (I ordered the lucet fork from JonesMachineWorks on etsy.)

Light wood lucet fork with an in-progress cord. The cord is made from a medium-pink worsted weight yarn, which is balled up next to the bottom of the lucet fork. The cord is initially a little inconsistent in width / cleanliness, and gets more consistent as it gets near the in-progress end.

I am starting to get slightly more consistent compared to where I started. Figuring out how to control / adjust tension in a way that worked for me took a bit to figure out. I was originally mostly tugging on the both the tail and the working yarn. What has been working better for me is tugging left on the working yarn after pulling the loop over, then lightly pulling the cord back to the right from the working yarn area (until I get a little resistance).

I found this short lucet fork tutorial on youtube to be helpful with getting started and helping start to understand tension control.
